Public Notice: Revision of LWF Contributions in Maharashtra

The Maharashtra Labour Welfare Board has announced an important update regarding the Labour Welfare Fund (LWF) contributions in the state. As per the Maharashtra Act No. 25 dated March 18, 2024, the contribution rates for both employees and employers have been revised. This change comes into effect from June 2024 and applies to all establishments covered under the Maharashtra Labour Welfare Fund Act, 1953.

Revised Contribution Rates

The new half-yearly contribution rates are as follows:

  • Employee Contribution Rate: ₹25 per employee

  • Employer Contribution Rate: ₹75 per employee

  • Total Contribution: ₹100 per employee

These revised rates are mandatory for all applicable establishments, which include factories, shops, trade associations, hotels, restaurants, banks, hospitals, societies, corporations, and other entities under the purview of the Act.

Mandatory Online Payment

Starting from June 2024, it is mandatory for all establishments to pay both employee and employer contributions online. Payments must be made through the official website at public.mlwb.in.
